Step into an uncertain future, where the world's only hope
for salvation is Dark. In 2023, a Scientist has been
kidnapped, and assigned to the rescue is Joanna Dark.
Perfect Dark is a spine-tingling thriller being put
together by the same team that created GoldenEye 007 and
is set to raise gaming to an even higher standard!
Starring newcomer Joanna Dark, this stylish spy-fi
adventure begins when this young operative is asked to
rescue a scientist from the monolithic dataDyne Corporation.
dataDyne Corporation is embroiled in a conspiracy
spanning the globe. Joanna's goal: Take them down!
Missions will take her around the world. So far, there
are locations like the towering skyscrapers of Chicago,
the dank caverns of a subterranean lab, a secret Air
Force base and the crash site of an alien craft in the
crushing depths of the Pacific Ocean.
Although Rare describes the game as having more of
everything than GoldenEye 007, in fact it has more than
anything you've ever dreamed. The technology in Perfect
Dark will stagger game designers and players alike.
Perfect Dark improves upon the innovative mission and
objective-based engine of GoldenEye 007. Players will get
more of what they want, like more objectives, weapons,
gadgets and special effect. You will also get more enemies,
mobile objects, platforms and kill-or-be-killed action.
Incredible advances in graphic and audio technology were
used to make Perfect Dark an intensely realistic experience.
Real-time ray tracing produces astonishing visuals and other
special effects that will be a treat for the senses.
Dynamic lighting, explosions, dust, steam and sun glare
will blow players away. To add to the punch of the 3-D
experience, Rare's own Surround and Acoustic Shadowing
Technology have been used to generate 3-D sound that
matches the 3-D graphics. If the graphics and sound don't
blow you away, the new artificial intelligence will. It
is frighteningly lifelike and will have many features.
Your enemies will have long-range team work, cover
recognition, ability to negotiate the environment, and
even be able to assess threats. Like real-life you will
also be able to make them fear you!
After several annoying delays Nintendo/Rare promises to
finally release the sure-fire hit on April 10th. We can
only hope they mean April 10th of this year!
